Our Story
how our love story began
In the summer of 2014, we both moved to San Francisco.
McKenzie from Kansas and Brian from Los Angeles.
Both of us were new to the city and neither of us knew anyone, so, we did what most millennials would do in that situation… We hit the online dating scene, matched on Tinder and both swiped right.
To this day, we are forever grateful for McKenzie’s Uber driver that drove her two our first date. McKenzie was so tired from the working that day and her gruesome new commute that she was having second thoughts, and was inclined to bail. He talked her into going for just one drink because he felt bad for that “poor guy” waiting at the bar alone. Well, that “guy” and that Uber rider are now tying the knot.
We were inseparable after our first date
Somehow a small town Kansas girl and a scientist from LA quickly became best friends. We decided we wanted to start traveling together. McKenzie had never been out of the country and Brian was determined after his time living in Thailand that he wanted to show her the world. We fell in love with traveling just as we did each other. From snowy Winters in Iceland, hot and humid Summers backpacking throughout SE Asia, to dreamy Fall in Scandinavia. Traveling to 15 countries together has given us more memories and experiences we could ever imagine. After 3 years together we decided to get a dog together.
which brings us to rosie and moving in together
She is the light of our lives and the third musketeer to our trio. Once we adopted our girl we decided it was time we share an address. We moved into our little Clement St. oasis where we’ve been ever since. We followed all the new beginnings with a business together offering Wedding photography and hair services. Five and a half years of love, life changes, travel and good times we chose to do it all together.

was the best day of our lives and here’s why
Brian told McKenzie that we were going to LA to celebrate one of our friends birthdays. On the way we would stop in a Christmas decorated/Dutch themed town, Solvang. When we arrived Brian mentioned we should take our Christmas card photo at a vineyard. We searched for a vineyard with a scenic background and ended up at a tasting room. . . this was not ideal for the photo so we saw across the street there was an Emu & Ostrich farm. Brian immediately suggested we go in and feed them! When we finished at the Ostrich farm (which was hysterical) we drove to Buttonwood Winery.
We grabbed our wine and headed to the vineyard for our photo. We took 2 photos in a beautiful setting just as golden hour hit. On the third photo Brian hit record and went to McKenzie as if we were taking another photo. At the last minute he grabbed McKenzie’s hands then got down on one knee and asked McKenzie to marry him.
There were tears, screams, hugs and kisses in celebration of this day finally happening after our journey of 5 1/2 years together. It was the best day of our lives and we cannot wait to celebrate the next best day with all of our loved ones!
